Is the clock greyed out on Lock Screen? Having trouble reading the time on iPhone because the clock isn’t displaying properly? Issue persists in iOS 16.5? You’re not the only one.

However, I can provide you with some general troubleshooting steps that may help resolve this issue if you encounter it in a future iOS update:

How To Fix Time Greyed Out On Lock Screen

Please try the following troubleshooting options:

1. Reboot iPhone

Try restarting your device by holding down the power button and sliding the power off slider. After a few seconds, turn it back on by pressing the power button again.

2. Change Font

If the problem persists open the Lock Screen edit menu and change the clock font:

  • 1. Long-press on the Lock screen.
  • 2. Tap Customize.
  • 3. Select Lock Screen.
  • 4. Tap the time.
  • 5. Select a different font from the list.

3. Create New Lock Screen

Is the clock greyed out issue back? This time try to Add New Wallpaper. You can create a new one that’s identical with your old one.

How to: Long-press the Lock Screen and tap the ‘+’ icon. Follow the on-screen prompts and let us know if it helps!

Restart your iPhone: Try restarting your device by holding down the power button and sliding the power off slider. After a few seconds, turn it back on by pressing the power button again.

4. Check date and time settings

Go to “Settings” on your iPhone, tap “General,” and then select “Date & Time.” Ensure that the “Set Automatically” option is enabled. If it’s already enabled, toggle it off and back on.

5. Reset all settings

If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone.

Go to “Settings,” tap “General,” scroll down to “Reset,” and select “Reset All Settings.”

Keep in mind that this will reset your personalized settings, but your data and media will not be affected.

6. Update iOS

Make sure you have the latest version of iOS installed on your device. Sometimes, software updates include bug fixes that can resolve such issues.

Go to “Settings,” tap “General,” and select “Software Update” to check for any available updates.

7. Restore your iPhone

If none of the above steps work, you may need to restore your iPhone using iTunes or Finder on a computer. Ensure you have a recent backup of your device before proceeding with this step.
